At Elite, we understand that meaningful climate action is an ongoing responsibility. As part of our commitment to doing the right thing, we recognise that there is no Planet B – and that businesses have a clear role to play in building a more sustainable future.
Following the successful offset of 847 tonnes of CO₂e to date, we are now progressing into the next phase of our carbon management journey.
Offsetting what we cannot yet eliminate
While reducing emissions at source remains our priority, we acknowledge that some emissions are currently unavoidable. For our latest reporting period, we have offset 231 tonnes of CO₂e through a combination of carefully selected, high-quality projects.
These include:
Zoba Debub Community Boreholes, Eritrea – 116 tCO₂e
Supporting access to clean drinking water, reducing the need for fuel-based water purification while improving health outcomes and empowering local communities – contributing to key UN Sustainable Development Goals including good health and wellbeing (SDG 3), gender equality (SDG 5), clean water and sanitation (SDG 6), and climate action (SDG 13).

Promoting Improved Cooking Practices, Nigeria – 115 tCO₂e
Enabling the transition to efficient cookstoves, significantly reducing emissions and indoor air pollution while supporting livelihoods and access to cleaner energy – contributing to key UN Sustainable Development Goals including no poverty (SDG 1), affordable and clean energy (SDG 7), and climate action (SDG 13).

In addition, we have supported reforestation efforts in Kenya through the planting of 23 trees, contributing to biodiversity, habitat restoration and long-term carbon removal.

Creating impact beyond carbon
These projects were selected not only for their environmental impact, but also for the wider social and economic benefits they deliver. From improving access to essential resources to empowering communities, our offsetting approach supports meaningful, measurable change.
They also contribute to a number of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, aligning our environmental actions with globally recognised sustainability priorities.
By contributing to internationally recognised carbon reduction initiatives, we are also supporting progress towards global sustainability goals and helping to accelerate climate action beyond our own operations.
A long-term commitment
Carbon offsetting remains one part of our broader sustainability strategy. Alongside this, we continue to focus on reducing emissions across our operations—through initiatives such as heat recovery systems and on-site solar generation, as well as ongoing efficiency improvements across our facilities.
As we move forward, we remain committed to reducing emissions at source wherever possible, while using offsetting to responsibly address those that cannot yet be eliminated. This balanced approach ensures that our actions today contribute to a more sustainable future.
